CIC Tidings Thursday, February 5 , 2026 Returning to the Centrum for our normal 9:30 a.m. Sunday worship service, we will extend a warm welcome to Rev. Dr. Kate Huddelson-Gillespie as CIC, P's pulpit supply. Kate attributes her vitality and enthusiasm from her 30+ years of keeping the Sabbath, practicing Mindfulness Prayer, and continuing her study of the lives of St. Francis & Claire. She believes these personal practices has helped her - and can help anyone - achieve increased awareness and stronger physical, spiritual, and mental health, which can facilitate with Life's important transitions. Show who you think will win the Super Bowl by placing your donation in one of three soup pots: Seahawks, Patriots, or Commercials! You may write a check to CIC with “Souper Bowl of Caring” or “GUM” in the memo line, as all donations will help feed people in our community through Greensboro Urban Ministry. Many thanks for your donations to help our neighbors in need! Everyone wins when we share God’s love and respond to food insecurity! Parents Day Out Hosted by the New Membership Committee and CiC Youth   Enjoy a Valentine’s Day break while your children have a fun and safe afternoon with us. Children ages 2–10 will enjoy pizza, games, crafts, and a movie while parents take a few hours to relax or spend time together.   Saturday, February 14, 2026 2:00–6:00 PM   This event is free of charge. It's high time we pop that bubble of mystery surrounding the "magic" that happens on Sundays with zoom, FaceBook streaming, sound system management, and slide operations! Our Tech Deacon team needs to increase their backup numbers, so B.J. and Jared are offering training opportunities immediately following worship service. Also, a Tech Deacon step-by-step manual is in the making for reliable reference. So let's support our wonderful Tech Deacons by stepping up to the technology plate (that B.J. says is easy-peasy) and becoming part of this important team! Star Words   We invite you to take a Star Word at random from the basket in the Centrum if you have not already received one. Each word is printed on a paper star and is intended to guide your prayer and reflection throughout the year. Consider this a meaningful act of worship—an opportunity to listen for how God may be speaking to you. Place your Star Word somewhere you will see often, allowing it to remind you of God’s presence, guidance, and care throughout the year. You are also welcome to take an additional Star Word to share with a friend. May your Star Word light your path as we journey together into the New Year! A committee is being formed to first organize and then to eventually deep clean the kitchen beginning the second week of March! A definite starting date that week has not been confirmed. CIC Treasurer Position   CIC is in need of a committed individual skilled in financial acounting to assume the treasurer duties for us. This person plays an immensly important role in the continued health & growth of our congregation. Please contact the church office or a member of the Personnel Committee (Mollie Davenport, Jacky Dowd, or Ron Walters) if you are interested or know of someone who would be. Enrollment Openings Available at CIC Preschool   Community in Christ Preschool has enrollment openings for the upcoming school year. Our quality program for children ages one through Pre-K operates Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. September through May. Families may choose three days or five days a week for children from ages one to three. The Pre-K class is five days a week. Please contact Preschool Director Lynn Crabtree at 336-674-1050 or preschool@cicpres.com for more information about this wonderful program.
