Our deepest condolences go to the family of CIC's brother in Christ, Steve Stringer, who completed his Baptism on Oct. 21st after a lengthy battle with cancer. The direct link to his obituary is www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/archdale-nc/steven-stringer-11506008

Hospice is listed as the recipient of memorial donations, but Suzanne asked to let CIC know that a monetary alternative may be earmarked for CIC's Montreat Fund since the Montreat experiences of our youth growing in faith were near and dear to Steve's heart. Suzanne added that the Stringers are very grateful for the peace proffered from feeling "bubble-wrapped" in the love extended in prayers and support by their CIC church family.

Greetings CIC! One thing that makes the work of the Stewardship Committee a pleasure is the level of commitment of the members of our Community in Christ. When pledges are made, they are consistently fulfilled. Please take a moment to see where you are in meeting your pledge for 2023. We do not currently create giving statements as we have in the past, but if you cannot determine from your own records where you are with your pledge, please reach out to our treasurer, Jordan Morris. Jordan's email address is below. Remember that Jordan is the only person in the church with knowledge of pledges and year to date giving. As we move into fall, if you have been busy and let your pledge fall behind a bit, thank you for catching it up. This allows us to end 2023 on a positive note and move smoothly into planning for 2024.

Thanks to the lifesaving generosity of donors from CIC and the community, the Red Cross Blood Drive on October 24 collected 20 units of blood! Thank you for giving life! A special thank you goes to Andy Bucior, who played the piano for over four hours during the blood drive. Donors, volunteers, and staff enjoyed Andy’s incredible talent and repertoire! We also appreciate Hope Rife and Debbie Wingate hosting CIC’s Fall Blood Drive!

Veterans Sunday

Nov. 12, 2023

We will recognize our veterans and active duty military with a Tree of Valor in the narthex for Veterans Sunday on November 12, 2023. Please email photographs for CIC’s Tree of Valor to Keven Cockrell at keven1@bellsouth.net by November 6 so that we might acknowledge loved ones who have served our nation. Many thanks!
