I offer profound and numerous thanks to all of you for your words of comfort at the death of my mother, Jean McFarland. Not only did she hear me/us during the livestream of the Christmas Eve Candlelight service, but my brother, Kent served her communion that night before she transitioned in the early evening of Christmas Day! Truly comfort and joy amidst the sorrow of her passing. Her obituary is HERE. With thanks and peace in Christ, Pastor Bryan Greensboro Urban Ministry Next Drive-Thru for GUM Sunday, January 7   Thank you very much for a total donation of 359 pounds of food for Greensboro Urban Ministry in December! We will collect nonperishable food items at our next GUM Drive-Thru on Sunday, January 7, after the worship service until noon. We are very grateful for your generosity and continued support of this ministry! While December was a time of hope, joy, peace, and love, the CIC church family felt sadness from loss as well. Sincere condolences go to Bobbie Gaddy on the loss of her brother on the 22nd, to Mandi Clift and Ashley Allred, and Lara and wife Carolyn Gerrow on the death of their father and husband on the 23rd, and to Pastor Bryan in the passing of his mother on Christmas Day. The light of the Christ child surely led them to their heavenly home. Bryan and family will return to GA on Monday to participate in two visitations for his mother on Tuesday, Jan. 9th, and a memorial service on Wednesday the 10th. Bill Gerrow's celebration of life at CIC will occur on Saturday, Jan. 13th at 2:00. A private celebration of life for Bobbie's brother is scheduled for April 13th in Apex, NC.  Wheel Train - CIC Member Eileen Beals is requesting assistance with transportation to Worship Service on Sundays. These funds are shared with the Presbytery for hunger relief locally, nationally and internationally. This wonderful ministry not only feeds the hungry, but it also teaches our children about generosity.
