Last week we hosted Rev. Peter Kim as our Pulpit Supply. That he was not properly introduced was brought to my attention during Community Life's meeting along with the suggestion to provide a brief bio insight each week to our Pulpit Supply for that Sunday. Well, DUH, that makes perfect sense, and I apologize for my gross oversight! To rectify my flub, below you'll see that this week's Tidings is posting two brief bios - one from last week's Pulpit Supply, Rev. Peter Kim as well as one for this Sunday's Pulpit Supply, Rev. Bob Lee. Thanks to the insightful recommendation, a brief bio for each Sunday's Pastor, new to our pulpit, will be provided in that week's Tidings. Please understand that these "bio blurbs" are provided by the reverends themselves. -Bobbie Gaddy, Worship P.S. Procurer Rev. Peter Kim’s Bio After emigrating from South Korea to Texas when he was 8 years old, Peter went to Wheaton College (Illinois) for his B.A. and M.A. degrees and Princeton Theological Seminary for his M.Div. Peter is completing his Doctor of Ministry at Union Presbyterian Seminary in Charlotte, NC (2026). Peter has preached and served as an ordained minister for nearly 30 years. He has been a plower and planter, starting English ministries at Korean-American churches in Raleigh, Chicago, Greensboro, and Charlotte, NC. He also founded an independent multi-ethnic church. Peter was a professor and director of international students at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC. Peter is honored to serve at such a historic place like Sugaw Creek Presbyterian Church (Charlotte, NC) and help them move forward. Peter is married and has two sons. He is a sports and fitness enthusiast and enjoys conversation over a cup of coffee. |

Star Words On January 18, children will carry baskets filled with Star Words throughout the congregation. You are invited to reach into a basket (without peeking) and draw a word at random. Each Star Word is given as a guide for the year ahead, encouraging you to reflect on how God might be speaking or moving in your life. We invite you to place your word somewhere prominent (on a mirror, desk, refrigerator, or dashboard) so that it becomes a daily reminder of God’s nearness and care. If you cannot join us on January 18, Star Words will remain available in the Centrum. You are also welcome to take an extra word for a friend, neighbor, or someone you visit. May your Star Word light your path as we journey together into the New Year! |
