A grateful, sincere THANK YOU to all of 2025's Greeters for their welcoming smiles on Sunday mornings, collecting the Offering during worship service, providing beverages and goodies for fellowship, and for their flexibility when schedule changes were needed! As we ring in the new and out the old, the 2026 Greeter Duty schedule is now available at this link HERE . Hard copies of it will be posted in the Narthex as well as on the Fellowship Hall bulletin board. Since most folk are assigned two Sundays, please find your names and mark your calendars so there are no surprises. A friendly text reminder is also sent out on Mondays. Remember if changes need to be made, please consult the schedule, contact someone who can switch, and then notify the office by text, call, or email so that Lauren can adjust for Tidings and Sunday bulletins. On behalf of CIC, endless thanks ahead of time for your important Greeter service during 2026!

At the December 14, 2025 meeting of CIC Session a Transition Team was appointed who will: seek candidates for a Transitional Pastor, conduct interviews for the position, recommend a candidate to the Session for hiring, and work with the Transitional Pastor to compose a Mission Study for use in securing the next Installed Pastor of CIC.

Preparing for retirement is a lot of work not only for the one retiring, but also for the church a pastor is leaving. I am so very grateful that God crossed our paths for transitional ministry in 2019 and then for Installed ministry. We have had a rich, challenging, and event-filled six years together. The Holy Spirit had already intersected our lives and ministries in 1999 when I met Jim Rissmiller who served on the committee who brought me to UNCG Presbyterian Campus Ministry. I have known about and loved every moment I have spent at CIC through more than 25 years. I am especially grateful to God for the last 6+ years to serve as your Pastor. We faced challenges, made important adaptations, and remained faithful to the vision that the Charter members had back in the late 60s when CIC emerged as a New Church Development. As I retire it is important for the next phase of not only CIC's ministry, but also for whoever God calls to serve here in pastoral leadership. With that in mind, the Session and I will be signing a covenant that is provided by Salem Presbytery. I encourage all of you to read and understand this POLICY REGARDING THE RELATIONSHIP OF RETIRED MINISTERS AND THEIR FORMER CONGREGATIONS.
It is crucial for the effectiveness of CIC's continued ministry here in SE Guilford County AND for your next minister for there to be full and easy access to the ongoing ministry and mission of CIC without any interference from me. Please click HERE for this policy and know that I am ever in prayer for the ministry of this Community In Christ. For all you have meant to me and my family: thank you! Please know that you are loved & blessed, Pastor Bryan |

To lessen any angst about who will lead CIC's Sunday worship in the new year, we have commitments for every Sunday in January, February, and March! It will be a return to CIC Pulpit Supply for a few, but most will be new to us. With that said, we have the opportunity to show how warm and welcoming this church family is! The complete list will be available in January's newsletter. |
