Congregational Meeting September 21, 2025- Voting for 2026
The nominations to be elected to serve on the Session:
Beverly Dye grew up in the Presbyterian Church. She attended Vandalia
Presbyterian until 1989, when she became a member of CIC. She has two sons,
two daughters and two stepsons. She is Nana to eight grandchildren. Beverly is
a retired educator who so far is not really retired. CIC has had an important role
in her life. She has served on the session a few times and looks forward to the
opportunity to serve on the session again.
Jim Routh, Jr. recently returned to CIC and joined by Reaffirmation of Faith. Jim has twice lead the morning worship service when CIC needed a morning worship leader. He will be working with the youth group this coming year.
Ashley Blake Venable is the mother of three children: Marshall (4), Makaylah (9) and Makenzie (16). Her family resides in Summerfield, NC in their family home. Ashley is a kindergarten teacher for Guilford County Schools. Outside of work, she and her family enjoy various activities, including marching band and
cheerleading events, visiting Greensboro Science Center and spending time at
the beach. She is looking forward to the Congregational meeting on September
21st
The nominations to be elected to serve on the Endowment Committee:
Bob Chamberlain became a member of CIC on November 5, 1978 when Jim
Rissmiller was the pastor. In addition to being the Youth Fellowship leader for
several years, Bob has served on the session and was a member of the
Endowment Committee when it was first formed, as well as subsequent terms.
He is a member of the Stewardship Committee and is chair of the Columbarium
Committee.
Wayne Jenkins has been married to Diane for 52 years. Their time at CIC
began over 40 years ago with fond memories of when Jim Rissmiller visited their home while their children were toddlers crawling on the floor. That visit brought Wayne and Diane to CIC. Wayne's career was in Textile Management that covered time in manufacturing, technical support, quality assurance and sales, a career of 52 years that brought them to Greensboro. Wayne has previously served on the session. He is currently in his 5th year serving on the Endowment Committee and would be pleased to serve another year.
Ron Walters has been a Presbyterian for 86 years, He was 3rd (by 30 minutes)
of 3 children, was married to Janie for almost 62 years and they have two
children. Janie and Ron joined CIC on 12/05/21. He is completing his first and
last term on the session, is a member of the Stewardship Committee, the
Columbarium Committee, the Personnel Committee and is chair of the
Nominating Committee. His career was in education, 35 years, teaching and
administration.
