A word of welcome and two announcements from Pastor Bryan First of all, I am happy to welcome Lauren Karnosky to CIC as our new Office Coordinator! We are also grateful to Christina Nelson who has been training Lauren as she gets going. I am eager to work with Lauren which brings me to Announcement #1... Unless my neurosurgeon advises against it in a followup appointment next week, I plan on returning to work on Tuesday, September 2. Yay! Announcement #2 is that I will retire at the end of 2025 having been in ministry for forty-one years! These years have included serving as a student minister in the same congregation for my three years of seminary PLUS thirty-eighty years of ordained ministry in the PCUSA having served in a wide array of ministry and mission settings including small church & multi staff congregations, camp & conference ministry, retreat leadership, a partnership with Bread for the World, playing concerts featuring original & cover songs in numerous settings, campus ministry, Hunger Action Advocacy, upper judicatory work in Salem Presbytery as Associate Presbyter, and Transitional Ministry. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Rev. Dr. Gray Clark for stepping in at CIC during my Short Term Disability. The kindnesses, prayers, and concern each of you have expressed have all been felt and appreciated.
I am eager to spend the last four months of 2025 with all of you. I offer many thanks to our God and to each of you as we look forward with faith knowing four things: 1) that God is ever with us as a pillar of cloud & flame, 2) that our community of faith lifts high the celtic cross of Christ, 3) that our stewardship of God's earth is our calling, and 4) that we are continually called to reconciliation in the Spirit of Christ. Peace be with you, Pastor Bryan |
