Road Trip VBS • July 14 - 18 • 9am - NOON each day

 

We will have groups for four-year-olds (rising pre-K) through fifth grade. Each group is limited to 12 children, so sign up today!

Once the limit is reached, we will put your child’s name on a

waiting list in case a preregistered participant cancels.

We need volunteer assistance in the CIC Office. Christina has produced a series of video tutorials for most, of these daily/weekly/monthly tasks.

Enrollment Openings Available

at CIC Preschool

 

Community in Christ Preschool has enrollment openings for the upcoming school year. Our quality program for children ages one through Pre-K operates Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. September through May. Families may choose three days or five days a week for children from ages one to three. The Pre-K class is five days a week. Please contact Preschool Director Lynn Crabtree at 336-674-1050 or preschool@cicpres.com for more information about this wonderful program. Registration forms are available in the narthex.

  CIC Tidings Thursday, March 21, 2024 CIC sends deepest condolences to Jan Greene on the death of her husband Harlen Greene after a courageous battle with cancer. Let's keep Jan and her family on our hearts and lifted in prayer.   Any change to CIC’s Endowment Resolution requires a vote of the congregation. To that end, an Information Session will be held after worship on Sunday 4/21 with the Congregational Vote to occur after worship on Sunday 5/05. Packets of the edited document (which has been approved by Session) are available  in print form at CIC in the narthex. Please lift Sherry Jensen and the Jenkin's Family in love and prayer on the death of her father, Gary Jenkins, who passed away unexpectedly on March 19, 2024. CIC TIDINGS Thursday, June 29, 2023 Be a Hero! Food Drive for GUM At Hero Hotline, we will learn that God calls us to help others. Our VBS mission project is to collect food for our neighbors in need through Greensboro Urban Ministry. Please join our Heroes and bring non perishable food items for families who are experiencing hardship.  Thank you very much! Vacation Bible School Has a Place for Everyone!   CIC TIDINGS Thursday, October 26, 2023 CIC building will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 2 thru Saturday, Nov. 3  for floor cleaning.    Our deepest condolences go to the family of CIC's brother in Christ, Steve Stringer , who completed his Baptism on Oct. 21st after a lengthy battle with cancer.  The direct link to his obituary is  www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/archdale-nc/steven-stringer-11506008   Hospice is listed as the recipient of memorial donations, but Suzanne asked to let CIC know that a monetary alternative may be earmarked for CIC's Montreat Fund since the Montreat experiences of our youth growing in faith were near and dear to Steve's heart.   CIC TIDINGS Thursday, July 27, 2023 CIC Calendar Thank you very much for filling the GUM Donation Cave! We greatly appreciate your generous support of our food collection for Greensboro Urban Ministry! The total donation for July was 726 pounds of nonperishable food items, which will bless many people who are food insecure in our community. Food insecurity is a lack of consistent access to enough food for every person in a household to live an active, healthy life. Our next GUM Drive-Thru will be on Sunday, September 10 , after the worship service until noon. ALL COMMUNITIES MEETING 6pm - Monday, August 14, 2023 Members of ALL THREE Communities (Life, Outreach, and Stewardship) PLUS other CIC members are invited to meet together on Monday, August 14, 2023 at 6pm . We will have a brainstorming/planning session as the new Liturgical year approaches. CIC TIDINGS Thursday, November 02, 2023 November Newsletter This Sunday is our Pennies for Hunger and Food for GUM collection day! These wonderful ministries not only feed the hungry, but also teach our children generosity, compassion, and joy in giving. CIC children will collect Pennies for Hunger during the worship service on November 5 so please bring your coins! You may also bring food donations to the GUM Drive-Thru after the worship service until noon . Thank you for helping those who need it most! Christmas Potluck Brunch – Celebrate the coming of Christ at our Christmas Potluck Brunch following the worship service on December 3, CIC’s Charter Sunday!   CIC Tidings Thursday, June 06, 2024 Please join us Graduation Sunday, June 9 , to celebrate Chase Jones and Jared Penrod .    Chase graduated in December 2023 with a second degree from ECU, her BSN.   Jared graduated May 2024 from NC State with a BS Crop & Soil with a concentration on Turf Grass Management.   CIC Tidings Thursday, January 04, 2024 May your troubles be less, and your blessings be more. And nothing but happiness come through your door. Please help with the “ un-decorating ” of CIC after the worship service this Sunday, January 7. Second Hour will resume on January 14! I offer profound and numerous thanks to all of you for your words of comfort at the death of my mother, Jean McFarland. Not only did she hear me/us during the livestream of the Christmas Eve Candlelight service, but my brother, Kent served her communion that night before she transitioned in the early evening of Christmas Day!
