An update from Pastor Bryan: With gratitude to God for his well-lived life, my family nonetheless grieves the death of Diane's father, Raymond Douglas McDaniel, lovingly known as Pa. Pa died in the early morning hours of 11/13/24 in Mt. Juliet, TN. Meagan flew to Nashville on Wednesday. Funeral arrangements for Pa include visitation this Friday and Saturday with Celebration of Life at 1pm Saturday in Lebanon, TN. Pa's full obituary can be seen at: https://ligonbobo.com/raymond-d-mcdaniel/ I am grateful to each and all of you for your prayers. We will travel back to Greensboro on Monday. While out of town I will lead the following services or meetings via Zoom: Sun., 11/24/24 - morning worship Mon., 11/25/24 - 2pm Jim Harvey's Celebration of Life in the Centrum. This service will be led by Jim's brother who will be on Zoom.

The CIC church family will gather to celebrate the life of Jim Harvey on Monday, November 25th at 2:00. Set up for this memorial service and reception will follow CIC's "hanging of the greens" on Sunday. The Community in Life Caregivers Committee deeply appreciates all those offering to help with set up, hosting/greeting, edible contributions, and clean up. Praise be to God... |

A new director has been hired for our beloved Preschool. Lynn Crabtree will begin work December 17. We feel God placed us in her path and her in ours. Please welcome Lynn when you see her. Holiday Honor Cards Purchase a Holiday Honor Card by artist William Mangum and support Community Housing Solutions’ mission of affordable housing and home repairs for low-income families in Guilford County! Please see Debbie Wingate to purchase this year’s Holiday Honor Card, “Winter’s Retreat,” pictured here. Cards are available beginning 11/24/2024 for $5 each, with 100% of the proceeds creating warmer, drier, and safer homes for our neighbors in need. CIC Christmas Post Office The CIC Christmas Post Office will open on Sunday, 12/8/2024. CIC Kids will deliver Christmas cards for our church family after the worship service each Sunday through 1/5/2025. |

Greensboro Urban Ministry (GUM) Please help us reach our goal of 5,000 pounds of food donations for Greensboro Urban Ministry in 2024! CIC’s year-to-date total is 4,848.5 pounds so we only need 151.5 pounds of food! We will collect nonperishable food items at the next GUM Drive-Thru on 12/1/2024, after the worship service until noon. Thank you! |

We would like to inform you that Jordan Morris will be stepping down from her role as our church treasurer, effective January 31, 2025 to more easily manage family life and a full time job. Jordan has faithfully and devotedly served our church for six and a half years and has made significant contributions to our financial stability. While we are sad to see her go, we are thankful for her dedication and wish her the best in her future endeavors. We are currently working to identify a new treasurer to ensure a smooth transition. Christmas Play and Potluck Brunch Sunday, December 8 Come with us to Who-ville and celebrate the light of the world! CIC Kids will present How the Grinch Found the Christ in Christmas during the worship service on Sunday, December 8, followed by our Christmas Potluck Brunch. Please sign up in the narthex with your name, number attending, and choice of bringing a casserole, pastry/biscuits, or veggies/fruit. Invite your friends and neighbors to worship with us and discover with the Grinch that, “Maybe Christmas doesn’t come from a store. Maybe Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more!” |
