Please consider supporting the youth as they raise funds for Montreat and other youth programming. How does this work? 1. Pick an envelope off the wall. (Located in the main hallway at church, outside the fellowship hall) 2. Match your donation with the number marked on the envelope. For example, if you pick envelope "20" you would place $20 inside the envelope. 3. Checks should be made out to “Community in Christ”, write PYF on the memo line. If you donate cash, please place a slip of paper inside the envelope with your name and address so the youth may thank you. 4. Place your envelope in the offering plate on Sundays or in the PYF mailbox in the mail room. Last day to support is June 30th, 2024. Thank you for your support! |

Opportunity for Service: The Word in Music Psalm 95:1-2 Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song... Beginning in Genesis 4:21 and continuing through Revelation 18:22-23, there are several hundred references to music in the Bible, because music within worship is both call and response. The call of God reaches the depths of our hearts with special power through the hearing of music, and our singing and meditating upon this musical call express, in a powerful way, the deepest response of our hearts to God. Throughout the year, but especially during the summer months, you have the opportunity to use your God-given talents to lead a two-or-so minutes portion of this call and response by volunteering to present The Word in Music. Your contribution could be singing or playing an instrument. You might even wish to consider offering a duet or some other combination of talents, if you have a helper and don’t wish to be a soloist. I am available and willing to help, to practice with you, and to accompany you, if you like. The Word in Music is an offering to God, not a performance for the congregation, so don’t worry about not having the professional-level voice or instrumental ability such as you hear on the radio and tv. We offer what we have, to the best of our ability, trusting that the God who gave us our talent will gladly receive this offering, as He did that of the poor widow in Luke 21:1-4. What this also means is that your age, from school age to “chronologically gifted,” is no barrier to offering The Word in Music. Please contact me at church, or via phone (850.294.4266) or email (apbuciorjr@gmail.com) if you’d like to discuss possibilities. Thanks! Hope to hear from you, soon! |
