Sunday, February 25 is the last day to contribute to the Souper Bowl of Caring. You may write a check to CIC with “Souper Bowl of Caring” or “GUM” in the memo line, as all donations will help feed people in our community through Greensboro Urban Ministry. Many thanks for your donations to help our neighbors in need!

The North Carolina Council of Churches offers a transformative journey this Lenten season with their 2024 Lenten Guide: Terror and Amazement. Life is filled with the unexpected, but it’s in the unexpected where we discover our true selves. This Lent, we are invited to delve into the Easter gospel narrative, exploring how Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome faced the unexpected with a mix of terror and amazement. 

Second Hour – Please join us after fellowship for Second Hour, which is a “deeper dive” into one of the Revised Common Lectionary readings using lectio divina (divine readings). Middle-school youth have the option of “diving deep” in the Living Water with the adults and high-school youth or meeting with Mrs. Keven and the children for Half Time.

Chair Yoga has a new time:

Effectively immediately, Chair yoga will be at 5pm on Thursdays. Please come and join us every Thursday @ 5pm in the Fellowship Hall. There is no charge, however, tips are welcome.

Ritual of Friendship pads are back! Please take a moment to sign in, provide or update your contact info, and greet folks who are seated on the row with you. Elders of the Month will gather these pages that will help us note worship attendance and discern any pastoral concerns that need to be addressed.

IT'S BACK!  TASTE OF KENYA 2024

Join us Saturday April 20 for our

TASTE OF KENYA

Purity Ruchugo will be cooking delicious traditional Kenyan dishes

for dine-in or take out.

All proceeds help fund her school in Ngong Kenya.  The school supports women and children and teaches them skills to be empowered and self sufficient.

The three programs supported by One Great Hour of Sharing - Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, the Presbyterian Hunger Program, and Self-Development of People - all work in different ways to serve individuals and communities in need. From initial disaster response to ongoing community development, their work fits together to provide people with safety, sustenance, and hope.

CIC has begin focusing on the One Great Hour of Sharing on Ash Wednesday, February 14 with a full collection on Easter Sunday, March 31

Preschool Registration for the 2024-2025 school year is HERE!

 

CIC Preschool provides a loving, Christian environment that includes a variety of age-appropriate activities that encourage artistic expression, good choices, outside play, music, chapel, and positive interactions between children and adults.


Priority registration for CIC Presbyterian Church members will be start on January 29, 2024. Please pick up a registration form in the Church or Preschool Narthex or stop by the preschool office Monday-Friday between 8:30-1:30. Please email or call the preschool director, Jennifer Miller, at preschool@cicpres.com or call 336-674-1050.


CIC Preschool is looking forward to a fun and exciting school year filled with learning and Christian Love!

  CIC Tidings Thursday, March 21, 2024 CIC sends deepest condolences to Jan Greene on the death of her husband Harlen Greene after a courageous battle with cancer. Let's keep Jan and her family on our hearts and lifted in prayer.   Any change to CIC’s Endowment Resolution requires a vote of the congregation. To that end, an Information Session will be held after worship on Sunday 4/21 with the Congregational Vote to occur after worship on Sunday 5/05. Packets of the edited document (which has been approved by Session) are available  in print form at CIC in the narthex. Please lift Sherry Jensen and the Jenkin's Family in love and prayer on the death of her father, Gary Jenkins, who passed away unexpectedly on March 19, 2024. Our VBS mission project is to collect food for our neighbors in need through Greensboro Urban Ministry.   CIC TIDINGS Thursday, October 26, 2023 CIC building will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 2 thru Saturday, Nov. 3  for floor cleaning.    Our deepest condolences go to the family of CIC's brother in Christ, Steve Stringer , who completed his Baptism on Oct. 21st after a lengthy battle with cancer.  The direct link to his obituary is  www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/archdale-nc/steven-stringer-11506008   Hospice is listed as the recipient of memorial donations, but Suzanne asked to let CIC know that a monetary alternative may be earmarked for CIC's Montreat Fund since the Montreat experiences of our youth growing in faith were near and dear to Steve's heart.   CIC TIDINGS Thursday, July 27, 2023 CIC Calendar Thank you very much for filling the GUM Donation Cave! We greatly appreciate your generous support of our food collection for Greensboro Urban Ministry! The total donation for July was 726 pounds of nonperishable food items, which will bless many people who are food insecure in our community. Food insecurity is a lack of consistent access to enough food for every person in a household to live an active, healthy life. Our next GUM Drive-Thru will be on Sunday, September 10 , after the worship service until noon. ALL COMMUNITIES MEETING 6pm - Monday, August 14, 2023 Members of ALL THREE Communities (Life, Outreach, and Stewardship) PLUS other CIC members are invited to meet together on Monday, August 14, 2023 at 6pm . CIC TIDINGS Thursday, November 02, 2023 November Newsletter This Sunday is our Pennies for Hunger and Food for GUM collection day! These wonderful ministries not only feed the hungry, but also teach our children generosity, compassion, and joy in giving. CIC children will collect Pennies for Hunger during the worship service on November 5 so please bring your coins! You may also bring food donations to the GUM Drive-Thru after the worship service until noon . Thank you for helping those who need it most!   CIC Tidings Thursday, January 04, 2024 May your troubles be less, and your blessings be more. And nothing but happiness come through your door. Please help with the “ un-decorating ” of CIC after the worship service this Sunday, January 7. Second Hour will resume on January 14! I offer profound and numerous thanks to all of you for your words of comfort at the death of my mother, Jean McFarland. Not only did she hear me/us during the livestream of the Christmas Eve Candlelight service, but my brother, Kent served her communion that night before she transitioned in the early evening of Christmas Day!
