Save the Date!

The Fellowship Committee met on August 7th to initiate plans for an upcoming special Sunday. Since October 1st is World Communion Sunday, it provides the perfect segue for a unique after-service gathering with food and fellowship. On that Sunday, members Ron and Janie Walters will share some of their experiences as teaching missionaries in Egypt for 32 years. Reflecting the theme, the Walters suggested that Fellowship chefs prepare Koshari, which includes many side dishes with a nice variety of flavors for tasting. So "save the date" in your calendar to tease your palate at CIC while gaining a fascinating insight of Egyptian missionary work!

Look for a sign-up sheet in the Narthex for An Egyptian Taste on October 1st to RSVP. Thanks!

Help Save Lives!

Red Cross Blood Drive at CIC

Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2:00 p.m.-6:30 p.m.

Every day more than 10,000 patients rely on the generosity of blood donors to survive. There is no substitute for blood. It is precious, it is perishable, and the need for it is critical. You can put your faith into action when you give blood at CIC on Tuesday, October 24, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Remember to hydrate and eat iron-rich foods prior to the blood drive. Thank you very much for your lifesaving donation of blood! Click on the link below to sign up http://bit.ly/CICDonateBloodOCT2023

Rally Day

SECOND HOUR – ADULTS

As we resume the Adult Second Hour in the Fall, we will be taking a Deeper Dive into one of the lectionary scriptures for that particular Sunday using a lectio divina style of study. We are asking the older youth to join us and are looking forward to their much needed youthful perspective. Middle School youth will have the option of meeting with the adults or meeting with Keven for Halftime. We are beginning this class on Rally Day, September 24. Join us in making this dive into the scriptures!

Take Action!

September is Hunger Action Month and you can take action this Sunday, September 10, by bringing food for Greensboro Urban Ministry and Pennies for Hunger! We nourish futures when we help people facing the choice between costly food and other basic needs, such as electricity, childcare, or medicine. You can choose to help end hunger. Please give so that others may have access to nutritious foods, and we can all reach our full potential. Thank you very much for bringing your coins and food donations!!.

Get Curious!

Kids’ Half Time

Please join us for some holy, playful learning during “'Get Curious,” a half hour (11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.) of fun and faith development beginning September 24! Children are naturally curious and can lead us into some deep wonderings about God. We will be using Sparkhouse’s innovative curricula and Messy Church activities to spark creativity and fun. Messy Church is based on the values of celebration, centering ourselves in Christ, and all ages together, so we welcome children and families, as well as middle schoolers who may choose to be Bible Buddies for younger children. Let’s get curious and learn together!
