We will have a brainstorming/planning session as the new Liturgical year approaches.

This is an excellent opportunity to learn the focus of each Community, how those overlap, and where you "fit" in ministry & mission of CIC. Bring along your creativity & ideas!

Help us welcome Matt, Adelaide, and Amelie McVeigh back to CIC on Sunday, August 20! We have certainly missed the McVeigh family since they moved two years ago.

Matt is bringing his banjo and Covered in Blue (Jennie, BJ, and Matt) will provide the Word in Music. We are excited to see Matt, Adelaide, and Amelie and to hear Covered in Blue again!

Blessing of the Backpacks and the School Year

Please join us during the worship service on Sunday, September 10, for a Blessing of the Backpacks and the School Year! All students (preschool through graduate school), support staff, school administrators, and teachers are invited to bring their book bag, backpack, laptop, briefcase, or lunchbox for a special blessing. Pastor Bryan will also present Bibles to our third graders. We look forward to the new school year and celebrating these milestones in our children’s faith journey!

  CIC Tidings Thursday, March 21, 2024 CIC sends deepest condolences to Jan Greene on the death of her husband Harlen Greene after a courageous battle with cancer. Let's keep Jan and her family on our hearts and lifted in prayer.   Any change to CIC’s Endowment Resolution requires a vote of the congregation. To that end, an Information Session will be held after worship on Sunday 4/21 with the Congregational Vote to occur after worship on Sunday 5/05. Packets of the edited document (which has been approved by Session) are available  in print form at CIC in the narthex. Please lift Sherry Jensen and the Jenkin's Family in love and prayer on the death of her father, Gary Jenkins, who passed away unexpectedly on March 19, 2024. CIC TIDINGS Thursday, June 29, 2023 Be a Hero! Food Drive for GUM At Hero Hotline, we will learn that God calls us to help others. Our VBS mission project is to collect food for our neighbors in need through Greensboro Urban Ministry. Please join our Heroes and bring non perishable food items for families who are experiencing hardship.  Thank you very much! Vacation Bible School Has a Place for Everyone! We are excited to invite our young “Heroes” to Vacation Bible School, but we need many adult and youth volunteers to make this week amazing!   CIC TIDINGS Thursday, October 26, 2023 CIC building will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 2 thru Saturday, Nov. 3  for floor cleaning.    Our deepest condolences go to the family of CIC's brother in Christ, Steve Stringer , who completed his Baptism on Oct. 21st after a lengthy battle with cancer.  The direct link to his obituary is  www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/archdale-nc/steven-stringer-11506008   Hospice is listed as the recipient of memorial donations, but Suzanne asked to let CIC know that a monetary alternative may be earmarked for CIC's Montreat Fund since the Montreat experiences of our youth growing in faith were near and dear to Steve's heart.   CIC TIDINGS Thursday, July 27, 2023 CIC Calendar Thank you very much for filling the GUM Donation Cave! We greatly appreciate your generous support of our food collection for Greensboro Urban Ministry! The total donation for July was 726 pounds of nonperishable food items, which will bless many people who are food insecure in our community. Food insecurity is a lack of consistent access to enough food for every person in a household to live an active, healthy life. Our next GUM Drive-Thru will be on Sunday, September 10 , after the worship service until noon. CIC TIDINGS Thursday, November 02, 2023 November Newsletter This Sunday is our Pennies for Hunger and Food for GUM collection day! These wonderful ministries not only feed the hungry, but also teach our children generosity, compassion, and joy in giving. CIC children will collect Pennies for Hunger during the worship service on November 5 so please bring your coins! You may also bring food donations to the GUM Drive-Thru after the worship service until noon . Thank you for helping those who need it most! Christmas Potluck Brunch – Celebrate the coming of Christ at our Christmas Potluck Brunch following the worship service on December 3, CIC’s Charter Sunday!   CIC Tidings Thursday, June 06, 2024 Please join us Graduation Sunday, June 9 , to celebrate Chase Jones and Jared Penrod .    Chase graduated in December 2023 with a second degree from ECU, her BSN.   Jared graduated May 2024 from NC State with a BS Crop & Soil with a concentration on Turf Grass Management. Sounds of the Season   SAVE THE DATE & BRING YOUR FRIENDS! Our 5th Sunday worship on 06/30/24 will be the 2nd of our Sounds of the Season events, this time celebrating the Summer Solstice.   CIC Tidings Thursday, January 04, 2024 May your troubles be less, and your blessings be more. And nothing but happiness come through your door. Please help with the “ un-decorating ” of CIC after the worship service this Sunday, January 7. Second Hour will resume on January 14! I offer profound and numerous thanks to all of you for your words of comfort at the death of my mother, Jean McFarland. Not only did she hear me/us during the livestream of the Christmas Eve Candlelight service, but my brother, Kent served her communion that night before she transitioned in the early evening of Christmas Day! Truly comfort and joy amidst the sorrow of her passing. Her obituary is HERE .
